Located just ten minutes north of the Homer Spit, this is a place for people who like finding gear the smarter way without the 9-hour round trip to Anchorage. Packraft Repair and retrofitting

We are just one of three certified Alpacka Raft dealers in the world that are able to replace zippers, valves, and retrofit Alpacka Rafts.

A board should feel solid beneath you. To keep you rolling, we maintain a well-stocked inventory of essential skateboard parts, including bearings, trucks, wheels, and decks. Our commitment to skating also goes beyond the shop; our team is actively involved with the addition of a new concrete skatepark for our local community. Ice Skate Sharpening

A good sharpening can change the way your skates feel the second you step on the ice. We sharpen for different styles of skating so you get cleaner edges, better bite, and a more dependable feel under you. Clothing and Equipment Mending

Some gear is too good to give up on just because it has a tear, a loose seam, or some hard miles on it. Our mending and sewing services help you keep using the pieces that still have plenty left to give. For those who prefer to fix things themselves, we also carry mending and repair supplies.

About Us

A Store People Have a Reason to Come Back To

Trying a new sport or hobby is much more approachable when you have affordable, pre-owned gear options. Old Sterling Outfitters was built on the belief that getting outside is simply better when you have the right equipment and a helpful guide to point you in the right direction. We wanted to create the welcoming feel of a community gear library: a space with friendly faces, a warm wood stove, and reliable advice. Because most of our inventory comes from locals who use it in our own backyard, it’s the perfect place to find exactly what you need. By encouraging you to bring gear in, get credit, and buy what you need, we’re building sustainable access to the outdoors for our somewhat remote community. Ultimately, this shop has become a place where good gear keeps moving, honest advice still matters, and the shop dogs make it feel a little more like home. It’s practical, welcoming, and built for people who would rather get outfitted by experienced hands than guess their way through it.
